London Resilience Team - Emergency Planning and Preparation

Severe Weather

London street in severe weather

Londoners should be assured that the Government, the Mayor, Local Authorities and resilience partners are working together to act on the lessons that were learnt from the severe weather in February 2009. Considerable planning has been underway for some time to address the recommendations of the review of the severe weather in London and everyone is prepared to do their best to meet the challenges the severe weather has brought and to keep London moving. Gritters have been out on the major road network and will be operating throughout the continuing cold spell. Motorists should also take extra care when travelling and leave more time for their journeys.
