Flood review
14 December 2007

Four months ago Sir Michael Pitt was asked by Ministers to conduct an independent review of the flooding emergencies that took place in June and July this year.
Sir Michael's interim report on the causes and consequences of the floods, and the lessons to be learned from them, will be published at 09.00 on 17 December, and launched with press conferences in London, Hull, Sheffield and Gloucester over two days.
The interim report contains urgent recommendations which Sir Michael believes should be implemented in order to minimise the impact of any flooding in the near future. It will also map out the direction for the remainder of the Review, and act as a consultation document prior to publication of the final document in the summer of 2008.
A copy of the interim report will be available for download from the Pitt Review website on Monday 17 December at 9am.
