London Resilience Team - Emergency Planning and Preparation

Emergency Planning Conference - Disaster Recovery and Response

11 September 2008

Claire Seed, Deputy Head of London Resilience Team, Government Office for London will be speaking at the Emergency Planning Conference, London, 11th September 2008.

The UK will inevitably experience flooding of the kind seen in 2007 more frequently. This, and ongoing high profile risks including avian influenza and a possible human flu pandemic, make it crucial that we have robust civil contingency arrangements in place.

The 9th Bi-Annual Emergency Planning Conference will provide the wide range of organisations with a part to play in this agenda with a comprehensive picture of:

  • Legislation and guidance
  • Training
  • Multi-agency planning frameworks and procedures
  • National and local decision-making structures
  • Scrutiny, accountability and monitoring progress
